Project Synopsis:
Our long term vision is to enable computers to engage in dialogs with humans in learning a second language. To make progress towards this long term vision, this project will engage in basic research in dialog and discourse, as well as build a prototype system that makes use of translation for language learning, and a prototype system for essay grading.
